In an evening of cutting-edge discussion, three Syrian writers offered their responses to the current crisis in their country and explored how literature can contribute to and shift our understanding of political instability.

Revered Arabic novelist Nihad Sirees has launched his first novel in English, ‘The Silence and the Roar’. He was joined by celebrated poet Golan Haji and Robin Yassin-Kassab, journalist and author of the novel ‘The Road from Damascus’.
