The UK’s biggest trade fair for the language sector, the London Language Show, will take place this Friday to Sunday, 13-15 October. The Show includes dozens of exhibitors, a comprehensive programme of seminars and specialised talks, and language taster classes.

The event is being held at a new venue this year: the Business Design Centre in Upper Street, Islington, near Angel underground station.

The European Commission will be present throughout the Show: at stand 100 the Commission’s Representation in the UK will distribute free educational resources for teachers and others. At the adjacent stand 120 the Commission’s translation service, DG Translation, will offer information and advice about careers in languages in the EU institutions, including on the potential implications of the UK’s decision to withdraw from the European Union. There will also be information about the EU’s support programme for educational exchanges, Erasmus+, which celebrates its thirtieth anniversary in 2017.

The European Literature Network was created with the mission of championing great writing from Europe in the UK – and doing it together. Open to writers, translators, publishers, agents, booksellers, festival directors, arts managers and journalists, ELNet is a free, collaborative hub for sharing news and views.

ELNet operates without funding or grants (unfortunately) and is therefore dependent on the passion, professionalism and dedication of our core team and on an extensive network of volunteers, supporters, partners and donors.
