BCLT’s International Literary Translation and Creative Writing Summer School 2016

The International Literary Translation and Creative Writing Summer School 2016 to be delivered by the British Centre for Literary Translation at the University of East Anglia in partnership with Writers’ Centre Norwich on 24 to 30 July 2016 is now open to submissions.

There are multingual workshops for translators translating from any other language into English: 1. Multilingual Prose workshop with Daniel Hahn and 2. Multilingual Poetry workshop with tbc. There are also language specific workshops: 1. German to English workshop with Katy Derbyshire, 2. Korean to English workshop with Deborah Smith, 3. Russian to English workshop with Oliver Ready and 4. Swedish to English workshop with B.J. Epstein.

Run by the British Centre for Literary Translation in partnership with Writers’ Centre Norwich, the Summer School will bring together writers and translators for an intensive, one-week, residential programme of hands-on translation and creative writing practice. The programme will include creative writing sessions designed for literary translators as well as lectures and readings.

Closing date for applications is 15 May 2016.

There are two packages which you can choose for enrolment: 1. Residential Package – £650 including all tuition, accommodation for 6 nights on the beautiful UEA campus in a single en-suite room, breakfast, morning and afternoon refreshments, lunch and dinner. 2. Non-residential Package – £250 including all tuition, morning and afternoon refreshments and lunch.
