BBC Contains Strong Language 2021 is a partnership between the BBC, Coventry City of Culture Trust, Writing West Midlands and Nine Arches Press, and is supported by Arts Council England, the British Council, Creative Lives and Jerwood Arts.

Through the summer of 2021, ten Coventry poets have been sending poetry postcards, specially-designed by local artists, to their poetry counterparts in some of Coventry’s 27 twin cities across the world.

As their notes of friendship, connection and conversation criss-crossed the globe, they asked questions about life in each other’s cities, and wrote poems in response. Enjoy an afternoon of poetry that celebrates Coventry’s heritage of twin cities, peace and reconciliation and international friendship. Poets performing include: Amanda Dalton, Romalyn Ante, Andrea Mbarushimana, Raef Boylan, Antony Owen, David Morley, Peter Raynard, Aysar Ghasan, Sujana Crawford and Emilie Lauren Jones.
