Trafika Europe’s Prize for Prose and Verse: submissions open until 20 December

Trafika Europe is selecting a winner and two runners-up in two different categories for a total of two winners and four runners-up. Submissions must be either unpublished translations or original works in English. Trafika Europe’s Prize for Prose and Trafika Europe’s Andrew Singer Prize for Verse are open to any literature written as either prose or verse—that’s right, there are no restrictions on genre, so this is the perfect place for that graphic novel in verse or poetic prose short story! As always, TE’s focus is on the continent of Europe, so all submissions must connect to the continent in some capacity. You can find out full submission details here.

Once their top ten works (five prose, five verse) are decided, they will be inviting the creatives to interview for Trafika Europe Radio and they will release their winners in their first issue of 2025. The judges’ panel consists of Ági Bori and Francesca Bell from the Los Angeles Review, alongside Joseph Williams and Clayton McKee of Trafika Europe. The two winners will each receive $500.00, and all four runners-up will receive $250.00.

The European Literature Network was created with the mission of championing great writing from Europe in the UK – and doing it together. Open to writers, translators, publishers, agents, booksellers, festival directors, arts managers and journalists, ELNet is a free, collaborative hub for sharing news and views.

ELNet operates without funding or grants (unfortunately) and is therefore dependent on the passion, professionalism and dedication of our core team and on an extensive network of volunteers, supporters, partners and donors.
