The Austrian Riveter: Riveting Writing from Austria
Who are Austria’s most riveting, living writers, and what are they writing about?
Stefan Zweig, Joseph Roth, Ingeborg Bachmann and Friederike Mäyröcker are all leading literary lights, but if you’d like to meet some of Austria’s most famous living writers, to hear what’s happening in contemporary poetry, prose and translation, join us in person for lively discussion and readings, with none other than the great Daniel Kehlmann (Measuring the World, Tyll), Doron Rabinovici (Elsewhere, The Attitude) and Kaśka Bryla (Red Ape, Ice Divers), trailblazers all.  The Austrian Riveter, which we launch on the night, is the first ever magazine of Austrian literature in English, made possible with the support of the Austrian Cultural Forum London
There has never been a magazine like it, and the line-up of contributors is outstanding: as well as our three guest authors, contributors include Robert Menasse, Elfriede Jelinek, Raphaela Edelbauer, Edmund de Waal, Hella Pick and Misha Glenny.

Free copies of the magazine are available on the night. Order copies online after 18.04. at newsstand.co.uk. All magazine contributors will receive their copies of the Riveter magazines by post after the launch events.

Book your tickets for the event at the British Library here.
