17 January 2017, The Tabernacle, London
Join best-selling authors HERMAN KOCH and DAVID NICHOLLS along with a host of all-star writers from the Netherlands and a cabaret-style evening of HIGH IMPACT entertainment: readings, chat, music, food and drink.
Dutch writing is some of the most exciting in Europe. This evening Dutch and UK writers come together to perform in one of the most exciting venues in London, The Tabernacle.
With his tragi-comic novels The Dinner and Summer House With Swimming Pool, HERMAN KOCH created High Impact literary headlines round the world, as did DAVID NICHOLLS with his brilliant novels One Day, Starter For Ten and Us. David Nicholls and fellow UK writers will chat and read alongside Herman Koch and his fellow low country literati.
A special HIGH IMPACT Cabaret to kick-start 2017 and to launch Herman Koch’s new novel in English, Dear Mr M, to hear ESTHER GERRITSEN introduce her novel Roxy to meet all-star-authors JOOST DE VRIES and JONATHAN GIBBS and top translator SAM GARRETT, as they all help celebrate the publication of the first Penguin Book of Dutch Short Stories and of GERARD REVE’s classic Dutch novel, published for the first time in English, The Evenings. You’ll be transported to further heights of delight by Dutch diva FRIDOLIJN and her band.
Hosted by Rosie Goldsmith & Directed by Jon Slack
