A night of readings and conversation
with playwright Timberlake Wertenbaker
journalist and broadcaster Robin Lustig
writer and cook Kate Young
and novelist Jonathan Gibbs
Hosted by Rosie Goldsmith
Love Elena Ferrante? Don’t know Elena Ferrante? Want to find out? Whether you are a fevered fan of the Neapolitan Quartet or you would like an introduction to the seething emotional landscape of Ferrante’s Naples, this is the event for you.
Jonathan Gibbs, Robin Lustig and Timberlake Wertenbaker will read their favourite passages from the books of Elena Ferrante, books which have captivated readers far beyond her native Italy since she published Troubling Love in 1992 – and led Time magazine to name her one of the 100 most influential people in the world.
Join them to celebrate the release of the latest translations of her books: Frantumaglia: A Writer’s Journey and the children’s story The Beach at Night.
There will be Italian wine and nibbles – and one or two surprises!
Tuesday 1 November 2016, 7pm, Waterstones Piccadilly. This event is free but please RSVP in store, by telephone 020 7851 2400 or by email piccadilly@waterstones.com
