A writer’s attire so often reflects the creative and spiritual essence of his or her work, and Legendary Authors and The Clothes They Wore is a fascinating adventure through the wardrobes of fifty revered writers whose work and ways of dress bear an idiosyncratic stamp influencing culture today – from James Joyce’s wire-framed glasses to Joan Didion whose dress-sense was so ‘out of fashion’ that she became the face of Celine’s 2015 collection!
This evening WGS will welcome two always-beautifully-dressed guests, as author Terry Newman discusses writers, their clothes and their books in conversation with literary host Rosie Goldsmith. With archive photographs, anecdotes and readings – this will be a night of uniquely bookish glamour.
