Monday 9 November 2020, 7pm – 9pm, free

On 9 November, The Poetry Society hosts a Europe-wide Zoom reading by five great European poets. We’ll connect Charlotte Van den Broeck (Belgium), Ana Luísa Amaral (Portugal), Julia Fiedorczuk (Poland), Mária Ferenčuhová (Slovakia) and Antonis Skiathas (Greece), in an event chaired by George Szirtes and featuring both mother tongue and translated poems.

The poets have been brought together by EUNIC – European Union National Institutes for Culture – the European network of organisations engaging in cultural relations and collaborations in the service of international relations.

The European Literature Network was created with the mission of championing great writing from Europe in the UK – and doing it together. Open to writers, translators, publishers, agents, booksellers, festival directors, arts managers and journalists, ELNet is a free, collaborative hub for sharing news and views.

ELNet operates without funding or grants (unfortunately) and is therefore dependent on the passion, professionalism and dedication of our core team and on an extensive network of volunteers, supporters, partners and donors.
