From 26 to 29 September 2019 the 19th European Book Fair for young people once again welcomes children’s and youth book authors and illustrators from several European countries to Saarbrücken, Germany.
This year’s thematic focus will be “Discover!”, which is deliberately a broad slogan. On the one hand, we see books here in which small and large discoveries are made – but also a multitude of newly discovered illustrators and authors. But the name is also meant as the opposite of the warning: “(take)cover!” and points at a general openness towards the world.
We would like to have Great Britain as the country focus of this year’s Book Fair. So now we are looking for 2 or 3 more exciting children’s and youth books from Great Britain that are already available in German – and their authors to read from their book in their native tongue at the Fair.
The fair pays a fee for the reading and pays for travel and accommodation expenses.
