Contemporary trends in Portuguese children’s literature

Camões Centre at King’s College London is organising a two-day event that includes a conference, a workshop for teachers and an exhibition of award-winning Portuguese illustrations, in celebration of the Day of Portuguese Language and Culture.

Three talks will take place on 5 May, with the participation of Ana Margarida Ramos (Lecturer of Literature and Children’s Literature at Aveiro University, Portugal), Ana Saldanha (one of Portugal’s leading contemporary writers for children and young people) and João Fazenda (Portuguese and London-based illustrator, whose work is split across a variety of practices, from editorial illustration to animation, from comics to children’s theatre plays). The day will end with a workshop for teachers of Portuguese, led by Ana Margarida Ramos. Registration required at camoes@klc.ac.uk.
