A Very Merry Festive Season and the Very Best New Year!

Thank you to all of you for your riveting reviews, blogs, books, translations, festivals, events, and ofcourse, for your generous support and good humour.

This past year I’ve visited ten European cities from Trieste to Tallinn, Paris to Athens, networking, scouting, curating and chairing events (read my Rosie-on-the-Road reports on our website).

It’s been a revelation. My conclusion is that – in spite of all the pressures – European literature and translation is as exciting and essential as ever.

So here’s to a bumper European literary new year of collaborations – and save the date for the next European Writers’ Festival at the British Library, May15-17th 2026. It is the only festival of its kind in the UK and you certainly wouldn’t want to miss it!

See you there, here and everywhere!
Yours, Rosie-The-Riveter and the Riveting Team

The European Literature Network was created with the mission of championing great writing from Europe in the UK – and doing it together. Open to writers, translators, publishers, agents, booksellers, festival directors, arts managers and journalists, ELNet is a free, collaborative hub for sharing news and views.

ELNet operates without funding or grants (unfortunately) and is therefore dependent on the passion, professionalism and dedication of our core team and on an extensive network of volunteers, supporters, partners and donors.
